Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing,The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Everywhere we read in the Bible we see prophecy, starting in Genesis, it was written that God would "put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." This is the foretelling of Christ Jesus which is what the Bible is all about, our Saviour. It's the very first recording of the coming King, who's heel was bruise via a crucifixion. Christ, when He conquered death, bruised the head of the devil and his ego trip. All power, honor and glory was bestowed upon my King, making Him the high Priest after the order of Melchizedek. Upon Christ's debut, Isaiah writes "And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." In the following third chapter, we can see more details concerning the time before Armageddon or the beginning stages of the end times per se, I can only guess. It's a quizzical game I play with the Lord. I hypothesize and He corrects me. God is preparing to establish His kingdom here on earth for a thousand years of ruling the world. In the meantime, God will be dealing with mankind as foretold in Isaiah with a fierce vengeance saying, I "also will choose their delusions and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not."
Isaiah 63:1-4 has this to say about the return of the Lord. "Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come." "And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end." Wickedness has not ended but Israel did just as God proclaimed, "Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; (that would be the saints of God), and I will give it him." We also read the account of serenity that comes with peaceful, Godly living. "The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD." We shall beat our weapons into plows, inheriting a new family of one of the tribes of the real Israel.
Psalms says, "But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace." Then there's Proverbs with "For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it." There has never been a time when the meek inherited the land for their own sustainability, it's on persevere until after the second coming. Conceivably, Isaiah speaks of the Apocalypse and what Christ is going to do to those nations whom He is displeased with, all the way through time until the return of our Lord. This era, when ever that will be, will witness the later rain, which supposed to be greater than the former rain in Acts. The wicked will go away while the righteous will remain in the land, living in that everlasting new covenant establish by our Saviour Himself. All false prophecy will cease as Zechariah describes. "And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth." And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive."
When we get to Revelations, we get a wrapper of what's been prophesied in Daniel concerning the beast systems that will arise in short order. I can clearly see that the ten headed beast kingdom is alive and well today. His mark, 666, has been around since tyranny began. John mentions that the antichrist has already debuted in his time and still exist today. There are many voices in the world today saying the end of time is tomorrow or almost here, with very little people reading scripture for themselves in order to understand. What we need to learn is today is the day of salvation, do not let it slip up, a convincing article about hell can be found on my blog, for only to those who dare to believe...
When we let the scriptures do the talking. "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. "In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar." Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
In closing, we can connect the dots of scripture and paint a picture of our final days before that last great battle. Not the Gog and Magog war either, when we do so we could practically look like prophets, using what the Bible says as a reference. Just don't think that the study of scripture alone will tell us the sign of the times, like Jesus said in Acts. "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power." All it will accomplish is a prophet quality human being in an era when God is not speaking. If the Lord does speak to us, it will be through His word. If we interpret it correctly then we experience what Jesus says in Acts "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." If we diligently apply ourselves to our devotional studies, we will discover that "For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived , by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him."
